The Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion website runs on my as-yet-still-in-development CMS: Mazungumzo, which is in turn powered by the truly truly wonderful CodeIgniter PHP framework.
Mazungumzo is a Swahili term meaning conversation, and at its core, the Mazungumzo platform is meant to be an enabler for conversation: between students, between teachers and administrators, between [...]

Storing a CSV text file into a C Struct

Cory envy: CARPer signed into law

It’s become a fad, of late, to compare and contrast our two female Presidents Cory and Gloria, although it strikes me as more than a little sad that it was only after she died that Cory clearly gained the upper hand in that contest. The conceit of higher education

The conceit of higher education is in thinking that we are solely responsible for achieving it. That it is through our intelligence, or diligence, that we succeed. Ignoring the countless opportunities we’ve had, by simply being born to a family that can afford to put us through school.

By all means, raise sin taxes

Taxes should come from alcohol and tobacco and not from books[…] Tax hazards to lungs and livers, do not tax minds[…]
GMA, July 27 2009 SONA

I meant to discuss this, but bigger things took more of my attention than I expected. Being a heavy smoker, I will be among the millions of consumers directly affected, so [...]
