This post represents my personal opinion; sometimes it makes sense, often not. I reserve the right to edit/delete offensive comments, but I wouldn't mind a couple of politically incorrect statements here and there.
I‘ve only seen the trailer, and already I’m disappointed. For starters, it’s Keanu Reeves. He’s not even blonde, for crying out loud. No accent either. It’s PG-13, which means the definitive Constantine (as written by Garth Ennis) won’t be making an appearance. But Jar-Jar Binx just might.
For the life of me, I’ll never understand why they chose Reeves for the role in the first place, a role that had the likes of Nicolas Cage, Mel Gibson, Hugh Jackman, and Kevin Spacey lining up for. The only movie Reeves was good in had him saying “Excellent!” every other scene. Spacey would have been awsome at this role. And why not Christopher Walken? You wanna portray a mortal magus who goes to places even angels fear to tread, you get Walken.
It’s too bad, though. It’s been a while since DC-Warner Bros released a decent comic book-to-film movie, and I had high hopes for this one.
